While You’re Here, Or If You Get Sick of Us…
For our family and friends from out of town, here are some of our favorite spots to explore in the area.
-
The trails around Galena Lodge are a must-do for mountain bikers of all abilities. With 40+ miles of singletrack weaving past old mining sites and wildflower meadows, this is one of the valley’s most scenic areas. Trails range from chill valley loops to more technical climbs and descents.
Galena Lodge also has an incredible deck with great views — it’s a great spot to enjoy lunch and maybe even catch some live music!
-
These are two classic pathways perfect for a relaxed day outdoors. There are plenty of places in Ketchum to rent a bike should you wish.
Harriman Trail is an easy-to-moderate 18-mile gravel path that follows the Big Wood River from just north of Ketchum to Galena Lodge. It’s great for biking or a scenic walk, offering beautiful river and mountain views. The trail runs right through the 4H Camp, and is a perfect choose-your-own-length walk!
The Wood River Trail is a paved, 20-mile multi-use trail connecting Bellevue, Hailey, Ketchum, and Sun Valley. This is a great place to stroll if you’d also like to explore shops, breweries, and restaraunts in town

Grab a coffee and wander boutique shops and galleries in downtown Ketchum or Sun Valley. Cafés and breweries abound! Check out https://visitsunvalley.com/ for a full list of dining, shopping, and arts & culture offerings in the area, but some of our favorite spots include:
Sawtooth Brewery
Warfield Distillery and Brewery
Java (get the Bowl of Soul mocha!)
KBs Burrito
Gold Mine Thrift Store
First Lite (Ethan Mansfield would disown us if we didn’t tell you about this!)
-
Wood River Museum of History and Culture
Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve - keep your Friday and Saturday night free to celebrate with us, but if you stick around, this is a hit.
-
Central Idaho and the Sawtooth National Recreation Area offer tons of day (or multi-day) hikes, from easy strolls to strenuous summits.
Contact Ethan Mansfield if you’d like a sufferfest or some strong Type 2 fun :)
Or, visit AllTrails and search for hikes from Ketchum, Galena, or Stanley. Keep in mind these might be longer adventures best suited for before or after the weekend!
